If you have a green thumb then the Earthwise Garden is a great place to get a little dirty. Located right next to the neighbourhood of Boundary Bay it was established by the Earthwise Society—a not-for-profit, charitable organization whose goal it is to demonstrate that it’s possible to produce healthy food without the use of chemicals.
Earthwise is also committed to putting the community in touch with its food by showing where it comes from, how it grows, the ecological cost of getting it to our tables, and the importance of sustainable growing practices. Plots of land are available to grow your own organic foods and/or create beautiful gardens. Rental fees benefit the community by helping to support the Earthwise Education programs in South Delta.
Visitors are always welcome to stroll along the pathways and gain inspiration for their own “Earthwise” gardens at home. Various events and workshops take place at the gardens throughout the year: Market Days, yoga in the garden, bee-friendly plant sales, and more.
